I just returned from a whirlwind trip to New York Fashion Week. Naturally, my reporting focused on dark, glamorous style – and I managed to sneak in a few nightcrawls to underground parties.
The scene at Lincoln Center tends to be a chic affair… so I was glad to mix it up with some Gothic & Lolita fashion.
My evil queen partner in crime, Yukiro Dravarious, got a lot of attention for his vampire aristocrat outfit.
This is only a teaser of NYC; I’ll have many more photos and reports in the next Global Gothic column. I made a point to cover events that would interest you, such as the Japan and Korea collections, and Goth clubs.
One of the highlights was speaking at the Independent Fashion Bloggers conference. I was on the “what are bloggers worth?” panel — I think Yukiro and La Carmina had the spookiest outfits in the room.
The video of my speech and more photos are in this IFB Con post.
Another highlight: hosting the Trash! 10th anniversary party at Webster Hall’s studio. My butcher knife was a hit.
I travel constantly, so it was nice to reunite with my New York pirates.
For more of my NY Fashion Week coverage, check out my posts here. I also have a NYC Japan/Goth shopping and club guide on my site.
What are your favorite Gothic stores and parties in NY? Stay tuned for the full report next month!
